BRENDA'S HIDDEN MESSAGE CARD

INGREDIENTS

1 piece of cardstock (cs) 8 1/2"x5 1/2"
1 piece 4x5 1/2" colored cs
stamps
ink
scissors
paper cutter (suggested but not necessary)

Starting with cs 8 1/2x 5 1/2 fold in half resulting in 4 1/4x5 1/2", crease well.
Keeping the first fold in place, fold one side of cs back into itself leaving 1/4 inch
extending past original fold.
Repeat above directions on opposite side with extensions being parallel.
Card should now look somewhat like a "W" or valley fold mountain fold valley fold :-)

Holding cs by the mountain fold cut 3 or more equal cuts up to creases (do not cut into
or past crease) Measure the mountain fold and cut colored cs less than an 1/16 of that
measurement. With cs on table and sitting in a "w" and middle portion cut in 3 equal pieces
bend first cut to one side (either right or left) bend next cut opposite till each cut is on
one side or the other.

Now insert the colored cs through the cuts on each side. It will appear in a checkerboard pattern.

With the checkerboard pattern being the front of card pull the side of the card that extend
from behind that pattern.

This sounds complicated but it is soo easy. If I can teach 8 year olds to do this you can too!!!
